Gary A. Uhr, age 70 of McQueeney, passed away on October 27, 2014. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 5 to 7 p.m. Private interment will be held at a later date. Gary was born on May 1, 1944 in Seguin, Texas to Theodore and Edna K. (Kriewald) Uhr. He was a graduate of Seguin High School and proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Gary was a long time aviation sheet metal technician. He enjoyed hunting, golf and watching all sporting events on television. He is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Dorothy Foster Uhr; daughter, Melissa Castillo and husband Jason; son, Garik W. Uhr and wife Sandra; grandchildren, Jessika Cherry and husband Patrick, and Johnathon Uhr; step-grandchildren, Gia Lopez, Alysa Lopez, and Johnathan Castillo; great-granddaughter, Paige Cherry; brothers, Donald Uhr and wife Caroline, and Weldon Uhr and wife Shirley; sisters-in-law, Carol Hollimon and husband James and Lorene Cowey and husband Larry; brother-in-law, Eugene Foster; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
