Obituary

George A. McKee, 1SG US Army(ret.), age 63 of Seguin, died November 17, 2007. George will lie in state at Tres Hewell Mortuary on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 beginning at 11:00 a.m. with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Tres Hewell Chapel with Chaplain Jim Taylor officiating. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow in the Warncke Family Cemetery. George was born on March 6, 1944 to George Washington and Lorene Mae Placker McKee in Houston, Texas. George served his Country in the United States Army including serving in the Vietnam War where he received the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Award and many other awards. He was an avid outdoorsman especially enjoying both hunting and fishing. He is preceded in death by his father and sister Barbara Streetman. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Vivian Warncke McKee; son, Mark Mckee and fiancé Marilyn McGlothlin; daughter, Kimberly Mogford; son-in-law, Wade Mogford; mother, Lorene McKee; brother, Floyd McKee and wife Jody; sister, Vivian Cannoy; grandchildren, Eric Davis and fiancé Cyndl Wilke, Holly McKee, Shaun Mogford and wife Jennifer, Joshua Mogford, Justin Mogford, Alycia Mendoza, Andrew Mendoza and Jace Mendoza; Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; Serving as pallbearers will be Eric Davis, Wade Mogford, Douglas McKee, Jeremiah Burns, David Beicker and Robert Patterson. Memorial contributions may be made to Guadalupe Regional Hospice, 215 S. Leonard, Seguin, Texas, 78155.
