Obituary

George "Guy" Weldon, age 71, of Lake McQueeney, passed away on June 3, 2014 after a valiant 6 month battle with cancer. Guy was born on January 10, 1943 in San Antonio, Texas to George and Frances (Blumberg) Weldon. He owned and operated Fred's Garage for over 40 years in Seguin. Guy enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. He spent much of his time flying, sailing, hunting, and fishing. He enjoyed being outdoors and most recently being a part of the Seguin Parrot Head Club. He served as a volunteer fireman in Seguin and in McQueeney and was a former chief of the McQueeney Volunteer Fire Department. His parents preceded him in death. Survivors include his loving wife, Sylvia Eve Pesson Weldon; sons Kevin Mathis and wife Fonda and Chad Mathis and wife Amber; grandsons, Kyle Mathis and fiancé Casey Reynolds, and Brandon Mathis. He will be missed by many. Guy's wishes were to be cremated. A memorial and Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the Texas Lutheran University Jackson Park from 2:00-5:00PM.
