Georgette Dietz Hawkins, age 64 of Seguin, passed away surrounded by family, on February 17, 2009. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2009 from 12 to 6 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 23, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Emanuel's Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul Zwarich and Rev. Jim Price officiating. Interment will follow in San Geronimo Cemetery. A reception will follow at Nolte Island. Georgette was born on January 23, 1945 in Seguin, Texas to Jesse Dietz, Jr. and Alma Anderson Bartels. Georgette was a graduate of Seguin High School and Texas Tech University. She was a life long rancher in Guadalupe County and will be remembered as the founder and former owner of D & D Farm and Ranch. She is preceded in death by her parents and her son, Richard Hawkins. Survivors include her husband, Bobby Hawkins; children, Audra Hawkins and wife, Shawn, Dale Hawkins and wife, Beverly, Christy Hawkins and Jamie Hawkins; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Hawkins; step-mother, Flo Dietz; brother, James Dietz and wife, Linda; grandchildren, Randi, Robin, Evan and Emerson Hawkins; aunts, Minnie Luddecke and Wilma Lou Bowen and husband, Jim; uncle, Richmond Anderson and wife, Renie; sister-in-law, Patricia Hatfield and husband, Larry; brothers-in-law, Willie Hawkins and wife, Patricia, Pete Hawkins and wife, Dorothy and Henry Hawkins and wife, Patti; special friends, Susan Hubbert, Wendy Marcellus, and Ellen White; her beloved corgi, Mugsey; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Baker, Gary Heflin, Ronnie Morrow, Dr. Richard Nelson, Bob Marcellus and Mark Dietz. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Hawkins, James Dietz, Edward Cassin, Jon White, Hugh Sprott, Dr. Carlos Menendez, Louis Pearce, Jr., Robert Julian, Ronald Jackson and Bob Walker. A lady of strong faith, Georgette loved life and lived it to the fullest with her family and many friends.
