Obituary

Gerald L. Douglass, age 86 of Seguin, passed away on January 20, 2013. A memorial service celebrating Gerald's life will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Brice Mandaville officiating. Private interment will be held in San Geronimo Cemetery. Gerald was born on October 18, 1926 in Perry, Oklahoma, to Stephen A. and Minnie M. Moreland Douglass. He proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. He successfully owned and operated an office furniture business. Later he pastored the Church of God in Needmore, Missouri and recently ministered to the Senior Congregation at First Baptist Church in Seguin. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Stephen and Paul Douglass and his sisters, Audre Whitney and Lorrayne Verseman. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mae Douglass; daughters, Janet Baker and husband Jack and Becky Holden and husband Jerry; son, James Douglass and wife Phylicia Presley; sister, Vada Jo Holland; grandchildren, Michelle Douglass, Ethan Baker, Spencer Baker, Natalya Baker, Jason Holden and Heather Holden; great-granddaughter, Mia Cole; several nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends. Gerald's greatest joy in life was serving his Savior and telling others about Jesus.
