Gloria Jean Cooper, age 76, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 7, 2018. She was born at home in Botetourt County, Virginia on September 26, 1941 to Nellie and Marvin Carroll, the seventh of nine children. Gloria loved her family and was a proud American, as she spent many of her years joining and supporting her husband, Jerry Cooper, all over the world as he served his country. Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Joyce Hutchison and Loretta Payne, and one brother, Richard Carroll. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Dreibrodt, husband David, and Sharon Nicholson. Her pride and joy were her four grandsons: Canaan Dreibrodt, wife Mollie, Colson Dreibrodt, Jeremy Khan and Benjamin Khan. She is also survived by her sisters, Janice Baldwin and Edna Beach and three brothers, Gerald Carroll, wife Louise, Robert Carroll, wife Ginger and Gary Carroll, wife Vicky, and a sister in law, Mary Beth Street. She had many nieces and nephews that called her "Aunt Glo" that she adored. Gloria will be remembered for her bigger than life personality and her veracious love for her family and country. Her celebration of life will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, where she will be buried with her husband who passed away in 2011. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 9:45 a.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with Rev. Jeremy Roy officiating. The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Tres Hewell Mortuary in Seguin, Texas. The family would like to extend our gratitude to all the staff at Hope Hospice, the love of many, and ultimately, the salvation provided by our Lord, Jesus Christ. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons.
