Gloria Lee Jones

Gloria Lee Alves Jones, age 82 of Seguin, passed away on November 1, 2026. Gloria was born in Seguin, Texas, on July 2, 1942, to Irene (Miller) and Lee Alves.

 Gloria and Steve were active members of Cross Church where they were involved in many facets of the church. Gloria loved singing in the Church Choir. She will also be remembered as a Guadalupe Regional Medical Center Volunteer. Serving at the hospital gave her great joy.

Gloria is preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Stephen Allen Jones, her son, Allen Jones, her parents, her mother-in-law and fathers-in-law, Phillip Jones, Norma and William Kingshott Jr., and brothers-in-law, Dennis Jones and wife Diane, and Doug Scheel.

Survivors include her daughter, Denise Whatley and husband Ronnie, and grandson Jason Whatley; daughter-in-law, Shaun Jones; sister-in-law, Kathy Scheel; brothers-in-law, Tom Kingshott and his wife Nancy, and Edward Kingshott and his wife Pat; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family members and many friends.

Visitation will begin on Monday, November 9, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. at Cross Church followed by funeral services at 10:30 a.m. with the Reverend Jim Price officiating. Private interment with the family will follow in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.
