Obituary

Green Van "G. V." Hastings, age 89 of Seguin, formerly of San Antonio passed away on October 1, 2014. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3, 2014 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Mr. Ken Walters and Rev. Gene Benedict officiating. Graveside services and interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Mission Burial Park South in San Antonio Texas. G. V. was born on May 9, 1925 in San Antonio, Texas to Green Berry and Bertha Mae (Rowinsky) Hastings. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He retired from Union Pacific Railroad. He enjoyed traveling, camping and fishing. G. V. is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Allee Hastings and sisters, Beverly Cary and Inez Loeffler. Survivors include his loving wife, Lottie M. Hastings; daughter, Marilyn Maida and husband Mike; sons, Darrell Hastings and wife Cathy, James Hastings and Glenn Hastings; step-daughter, Diane Gill and husband Wayne; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family members and many friends. G. V.'s family members will serve as pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Bonnet Palliative Care and Hospice, 12111 Ranch Road 12 #114, Wimberley, Texas 78676 or to the charity of one's choice.
