Guadalupe Carolina "Cary" Washum, age 68 of Seguin, passed away on October 23, 2024.  Cary was born on September 11, 1956 in Nixon, Texas to Nicholasa (Vela) and Refugio Lopez.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings, Pauline Martinez, Antonia Arias, and Refugio Lopez, Jr.

Survivors include her loving husband of 41 years, Troy Washum; daughters, Elizabeth Spaulding and husband Brian, and JoAnn Washum; grandchildren, Brandon, Nathan, Dylan, and Megan Spaulding; sisters, Dora Gutierrez and husband Jimmy, Soila Villarreal and husband Pete, Nicholasa Spicer and husband Terry, and Kathy Vega and husband Joe; brother-in-law, Joe Washum and wife Letha; sister-in-law, Julia Lopez; numerous nieces, nephews, godchildren, other loving family members and a host of friends.

Visitation will begin on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at 5 p.m. followed by the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel.  A procession will depart Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. for the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.  A reception will follow.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dylan Spaulding, Brian Spaulding, Daniel Vega, San Juan Arias, Johnny Acosta, Joel Cardenas, Cesar Rendon and Jorge Herrera.

Private burial will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
