Gwendolyn Joyce Stretesky, age 85 of Seguin, Texas formerly of Pittsburg, Missouri, passed away on December 16, 2023.  Gwendolyn was born on October 21, 1938, in Krenshaw County, Alabama to Ruth (Pettus) and Kearney G. Summerlin.  She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  Frankie and Gwendolyn resided in Pittsburg for over 26 years before recently moving to Seguin to be near family.

Gwendolyn was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Frankie L. Stretesky, her parents, her daughter, Tina Nave, brother, Larry Summerlin, son-in-law, Fradoon Vakilzadeh, and sister-in-law, Brenda Summerlin.

Survivors include her children, Christopher Stretesky and wife Sheli, Cynthia Case, Lisa West and husband Lee and Mechelle Vakilzadeh; brother, Reggie Summerlin; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; other loving family members and friends.

Graveside services and interment will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with Bishop Tim Bird conducting them.
