Harold Day Haines, age 88 of Seguin passed away on July 12, 2014. Visitation will begin Friday, July 18, 2014 at 12:30 p.m. followed at 2:00 p.m. by a memorial service celebrating his life and including full military honors at Tres Hewell Mortuary with Reverend Joe Howard and Reverend Jeremy Roy officiating. Private interment will be held at a later date.
Harold was born on Christmas Day 1925 in Lebanon, Missouri to Albert D. and Sue G. (Casey) Haines. "Sarge" Haines, as he was affectionately known, proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for over 21 years including tours in Alaska and Vietnam. He was an active member of Forest Hills Baptist Church. He loved reading, e-mail communication and gardening (especially mowing grass). Harold is preceded in death by his parents; brother Wayne Haines; daughter Susie Haines; infant granddaughter Amber Dawn Trost; and step-grandson Paul Santos. Survivors include his loving wife Connie (Garcia) Haines; sister Pauline Phillips, numerous brothers and sisters-in-law; daughters Linda McCall and husband Marvin, Nancy Frase and husband Steve; sons Aubrey Haines and wife Donna, Mark Haines and wife Brenda; step-daughter Cynthia Riojas; grandchildren Matthew McCall and wife Kim, Michael McCall, Lynee Cross and husband Chad, Chris Trost, Monty Trost and wife Amy, Everett Trost, and Grace Haines; step-grandchildren Neomi Santos, Craig Melton, and Natalie Bloch; 16 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends who will miss him dearly.
