Harold Ray King, age 76 of Seguin, passed away on March 28, 2012. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 1, 2012 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 3 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 2, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Bill Knobles officiating. Entombment will follow in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. Ray was born on September 2, 1935 in Bogata, Texas to John and Edna Venable King. He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Hardin Simmons University. He was a manufacturers' representative for concrete roofing tile products. Ray formerly served on the City Council of Hollywood Park, Texas and was the current secretary of the McQueeney Lions Club. Ray will be fondly remembered for co-founding CASI(Chili Appreciation Society International). He is preceded in death by his late wife Judie King, parents, and brother William King. Survivors include his loving wife, Patricia Irvine-King; daughters, Melissa Ashby and husband Bruce, and Lezlie King and husband Mark Burns; sons, Ron Ortiz and wife Toni Thompson Ortiz, and Steve Bayne; granddaughters, Johanna Ashby Kell and husband Ryan, Jessica Ashby Jones and husband Will, Jordan Ortiz and Olivia Ortiz; grandson, Austen Ortiz; three great-grandchildren, Carter, Max and Olivia; sister, Marcelle Simmonds and husband Bill, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and many friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Loal Harwell, Mark Burns, Ryan Kell, Eddie Lee, Larry Cremean and Don Fry. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ira Duffield, Members of McQueeney Lions Club and Members of Classic CASI. Memorial contributions may be made to CASI Scholarship Fund (Chili Appreciation Society International) or to the charity of one's choice.
