Dr. Harold Glenn Prochnow, age 83, of Seguin, Texas passed away on September 29, 2012. Harold, affectionately known as Proc, was born in Fredericksburg, Texas on February 20, 1929 to Otto and Sophie (Werner) Prochnow. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Lucille Flint and husband John, and sister Loreen Lawyer and husband Jay. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Jo Emily (Winkel) Prochnow; daughters Emily Huser and husband Frank of Geronimo, and Lisa Prochnow of New Braunfels; son Glenn Prochnow and wife Claudine of San Antonio; grandchildren Meredith and Cameron Huser, and Eric, Codi, and Kami Prochnow; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Dr. Prochnow was a proud graduate of Fox Tech High School, and Texas Lutheran University, where he lettered in football, basketball and track. He met his beloved wife Jo Emily at TLU and they settled in Seguin. He went on to earn a master's degree from Texas State University and a doctorate from the University of Houston. He retired in 1994 after a long career in education, serving as a teacher and coach at Seguin High School, Principal at Bloomington High School, and professor, Chair of the Education Department, and Assistant to the President at Texas Lutheran.
He was a member of the Seguin Noon Lion's Club for over 50 years, serving as president. He was also a member of Emanuel's Lutheran Church for 60 years, serving on the Church Council and in various other church ministries. He and Jo Emily were members of the Convivals, a group of lifetime friends who have met for fun and fellowship for over 50 years. One of the great joys in his life, besides his family, was travel. He and Jo Emily traveled extensively, and he always brought back many pictures and stories to share with family and friends.

Travis, Seguin, Texas, 78155. He was a brother in Christ, a loving husband and father, a loyal friend, a leader in the community, and a man of integrity and honor. He will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 5, 2012 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Emanuel's Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul J. Zwarich officiating. Interment will follow in San Geronimo Cemetery. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall at Emanuel's Lutheran Church.
