Hazel Smith, age 85 of Seguin, formerly of Luling, passed away on April 19, 2023. Hazel was born on September 22, 1937, in Barrett, West Virginia to Elzoria (Slone) and Robert Carter.

Hazel is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, James Leon Carter, Sr. and Carlos Carter and her sister Myrle Scott.

Survivors include her son, Christopher Smith; daughter, Lisa Glenewinkel and husband David; grandson, David Alan Glenewinkel, II; brother, Donald Carter; sister-in-law, Jo Turner Carter; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 24, 2023 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Graveside services and interment will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at 10 a.m. at the Luling City Cemetery with David Alan Glenewinkel, II officiating.
