Helen Jean Bower Mustachia, age 85 of Seguin, formerly of Victoria, passed away on December 30, 2021. Helen was born on September 21, 1936 in Claremore, Oklahoma to Evelyn (Hancock) and Willis M. Bower.

During her childhood, Helen lived in many different places across the southern United States, eventually settling in Taylor, Texas and winning many accolades as a flutist before graduating from Taylor High School in 1954. Helen attended Texas Women's University and worked for several years as a secretary and later as an insurance agent. She was very active at Grace Lutheran Church, along with VCAM – Victoria Christian Assistance Ministry, both in Victoria, Texas. In her free time, Helen spent time with family and cared for her many rescue animals.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her daughter, Julie Korzekwa and husband Albert; grandchildren, Miles and Cecilia Korzekwa; brother, James "Jim" Bower and wife Kay Bower; nephew, Marc Bower; niece, Catherine Bower; and three great-nephews.

A memorial service celebrating Helen's life will be held on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel in Seguin with the Rev. Dr. Norman Beck officiating. Private interment will be held at a later date in the Evergreen Cemetery in McGregor, Texas.
