Helen Thekla Lampman, age 93, of the Zuehl community, passed away on November 19, 2016. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Redeemer United Church of Christ in Zuehl. Interment will follow in the Redeemer United Church of Christ Cemetery in Zuehl. Helen was born on September 27, 1923 in Bexar County, Texas to Otto, Sr. and Alma (Bielke) Luensmann. She attended the Gable and Clemens rural schools until she was old enough to move to San Antonio and work. Helen worked at the PX at Ft. Sam Houston and was an active volunteer at the USO during WWII, where she and her sisters loved to dance with the soldiers. After the war, Helen met and married the love of her life, Sinton. She and Sinton moved to Zuehl in 1966 where Helen was very involved in the community; she advocated and was successful in bringing Southwestern Bell telephone from San Antonio to Marion, ending the party lines there. Helen was also very involved at Redeemer United Church of Christ, serving as a member of the Women's Fellowship and as a former Sunday School teacher. Helen was an active member of the Bexar Bowling Society. Helen loved to cook, loved her flowers, but above all, Helen loved her family. She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Sinton Lampman; her parents; sisters, Viola Loeffler, Elfrieda Beyer, and Evelyn Klein; and brother, Hank Luensmann. Helen is survived by her children, Russell Lampman and wife Laurie Doyal-Lampman, Warren Lampman and wife Gail, and Becky Reinhard and husband Russell Reinhard; grandchildren, Adam Lampman and wife Heather, Dalton Lampman, Roderick Reinhard, Randall Reinhard, Brianna Reinhard, Jacob Lampman and Aaron Lampman; great-grandchild, Savannah Lampman; sisters, Marie Stacey, Lillian Strey and husband Willie; brothers, Richard Luensmann and wife LaVerne, Benno Luensmann and wife Shirley, and Otto Luensmann, Jr. and wife Loraine; sisters-in-law, Helen Luensmann and Ruth Lampman; brother-in-law, Payton Lampman; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Adam Lampman, Roderick Reinhard, Dalton Lampman, Jacob Lampman, Brianna Reinhard, and Aaron Lampman. Honorary Pallbearer will be Randall Reinhard.
