Helmuth Robert Friedeck, age 88 of Seguin, died Monday, January 21, 2019 at his home. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary with Rev. Marcus Bigott officiating. Interment will follow in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.

Helmuth was born on December 21, 1930 in Marion, TX to the late Hugo Friedeck and Louise Bulgerin Friedeck. He and his late wife, Evelyn, operated Seguin Mattress Factory beginning in 1958 until retiring in the late 1990's.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Sheila Friedeck of Vidor; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Steve Woodard of Seguin; grandchildren Scott Friedeck and wife Thalia of Dripping Springs; Lacey Rodriguez and husband John of Dallas; Brooke Lightfoot and husband Buddy of Vidor; and Shaun Woodard of Austin. Also surviving are three great-grandsons; Lucas Friedeck, Porter and Owen Lightfoot; and one great-granddaughter, Juliet Friedeck, expected soon; as well as many nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

His wife, Evelyn Mattke Friedeck, along with his parents, brothers, Marvin Friedeck, Reno Friedeck, and sister, Lucille Tschoepe all preceded him in death.

Serving as pallbearers will be; Scott Friedeck, Shaun Woodard, Buddy Lightfoot, John Rodriguez, Gary Friedeck, and Albert Roecker. Memorial contributions in his honor may be made to Emanuel's Lutheran Church, 206 N. Travis St., Seguin, Texas, 78155.
