Henry Wilcox, AKA Sidney Hysaw, age 85 of Seguin, passed away on June 21, 2009. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2009 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. with the family receiving friends 5 to 7 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 26, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Howard E. Mims and Deacon Robert Elliott officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. Henry was born in Seguin, Texas February 6, 1924 to Goodwin Wilcox and Carrie Lee Meredith. He proudly served his country by serving in the United States Army both during World War II and the Korean War. He travelled the United States, especially the west coast, while driving for Associated Freight Line. He enjoyed playing golf. His parents precede him in death as do his siblings, Lenora Golfney, Richard Wilcox, Helen Mundey and Leslie Taylor. Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years, Alberta Metoyer Hysaw; children, Ann I. Stevens, Charlotte M. Winstead, Juanda J. Martin and husband, Willie and Walter Chancy and wife, Terry; grandchildren, Amay A. Fletcher and husband, Kenneth, Alvin Lott and wife, Elizabeth, Donny Ray Monroe, Lisa Marie Winstead, Erik G. Winstead, Mikal Mary Chancy and Walter A. Chancy; siblings, Velma Lee Johnson and Bernice Wilcox Carroll; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews. He will always be remembered as a fabulous husband, a super dad and an outstanding grandfather. His loving family members will serve as pallbearers.
