Herman "Buddy" Cowey, Sr., age 81 of Seguin, passed away on July 5, 2014. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Frank Willoughby officiating. Interment with military honors under the auspices of the American Legion H. U. Wood Post #245 will follow in Dugger Cemetery. Buddy was born on January 17, 1933 in Gonzales County to Robert, Sr. and Helen (Lange) Cowey. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Robert Cowey, Jr., Hilmar Cowey, Sr., Leroy Cowey, Sr., James Cowey, and Jake Cowey and his sisters, Hilda Mondin and Jessie O'Shay. Survivors include his sons, Herman Cowey, Jr. and wife Diane, Farrel Cowey and fiancé Tammy Wuthrich and Brian Cowey and wife Betty; daughter Cheryl Cowey Krueger; sister, Mae Grimm; sisters-in-law, Doris Cowey and Helen Shows; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Serving as pallbearers will be Farrel Cowey, Glen Cowey, Arno Grimm, Richard Krueger, Albert Cowey, and Hilmar "Red" Cowey, Jr. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
