Herman Wayne Dietz was beamed up back home on June 7, 2018. He was a lover of cheesy t-shirts, fishing and cigars. He was a craftsman and a family man. He was Beach Bum and got into his fair share of shenanigans. Being a fisherman, he always had a story to tell. He was a lover of food, any food. He was a teacher and father. Most importantly, he would tell you, he was grandfather. He was the World's Greatest Papa possibly even the greatest in the Universe. In fact, he was known by most as Papa. He was always ready for an adventure and loved to travel. His favorite places being Port Aransas and Roswell, NM. He was beamed up too soon and left behind his wife Rebecca Dietz; daughter and son-in-law Stacy and Mark Foster; son and daughter-in-law Chad and Nicole Dietz; his grandchildren Colby, Megan, Mac, Tanner and Colton. He also considered his grandchildren's spouses as his own; Weston, Emily and Ric. His furry rescue dog, Forest will miss their morning cup of coffee. We know he had more to share and more shenanigans to get into with us. He will be missed and a cold one will be poured in in his honor at all family gatherings to come. He was born June 2, 1943. He is preceded in death by his parents; Herman Louis Jr. and Rosalyn Dietz; sisters, Tracey Dietz and Hope Reeves. He is survived by his wonderful; Aunt Mary Merk and his siblings Layne Dietz, Suzi Linn, Hank Dietz and Wyatt Dietz. He is also survived by lots of nieces and nephews and his great grandchild Brayson Jackson. Memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at 10 am at Tres Hewell Mortuary with Father Greg Nevlud officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Animal Rescue Foundation, Inc. P.O. Box 2831, Seguin, TX 78156 or St. James Catholic School, 507 S. Camp, Seguin, TX 78155.
