Obituary

Herminia Reyes Serna, age 86, passed away on February 16, 2018. Visitation will be held Tuesday February 20, 2018 from 5 to 7pm followed by a rosary service at 7pm at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Deacon Nick Carrillo officiating. A procession will depart Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 10 a.m. for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow in San Geronimo Cemetery. A reception will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Hall. Herminia was born on October 22, 1931 in Marion, Texas to Sisto and Petra (Hernandez) Reyes. Herminia worked at Randolph Air Force Base where she met the love of her life David C Serna Sr. They were married for 64 Blessed years. She loved dancing with her husband, sewing and spending time with her family, whom she loved dearly. Herminia is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, David C. Serna, Sr., her brothers, Frank Reyes, Sr., Gonzalo Reyes Sr., and Juan Reyes, and her sister, Lou Rios. Survivors include her children Janie Irene Serna Martinez, David Serna, Jr., Richard Serna and wife Elizabeth, Chris Serna and wife Francis, and Veronica Inabnit-Serna and wife Jennifer; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jason, David III, Deric, Marsha, Christopher, Yvonne, Natalie, Erica, C.J., Tiffany; great-grandchildren, Desiree, D'Anna, D'Nae, Kiera, Jenna, Zyda, Jaelyn, Alex, Jacob, K'Lynn, Jordan, Mariah, Ryan, Josee, Christopher Jr., Makalya, Claire, Kobe, Brady, Bryson, Ali, Jameson, Kaylee, Braeden, Bryson, and Emma; great great-grandchildren, Ezekiel, Eleiah, Ethan, Bentley, Greyson, Pierson, and Camden; siblings, Inez Ramirez and husband Gonzalo, Sisto Reyes and wife Marylou, Dolores Reyes, Raul Reyes, Sr., and Geronimo Reyes and wife Mary; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family members and many friends. Serving as pallbearers will be David Serna III, Deric Serna, Christopher Serna, Christopher Volkmann, Rueben Rios and Eric Rios. Honorary pallbearer will be Jason Leal. The family would like to thank the Guadalupe Regional Hospital hospice, Fresenius Kidney Care, doctors and staff for their efforts, care, and dedication.
