Hilmar Rennspies, age 89 of Seguin, passed away on June 11, 2018. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Deacon Nick Carrillo officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Lone Oak Cemetery in Geronimo. Hilmar was born on January 9, 1929 in Zuehl, Texas, to Julius and Rose (Mueller) Rennspies. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and also enjoyed serving with the Volunteer Fire Department in Seguin. Hilmar will be remembered for several jobs throughout Seguin, most notably as a mechanic at all Chevrolet Dealerships until 1990, and later worked at the Seguin Cattle Company and Schulze Grain. He enjoyed deer hunting. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Gloria Rennspies, his parents and his brother, Elton Rennspies. Survivors include his children, Gerald Rennspies and wife Nancy, Sharen Rennspies, and Karen Tindall; grandchildren, Jerry, Haley and Dylan Rennspies; brother, Arno Rennspies and wife Doris; sister, Viola Schwanz; loving dog, Chula; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and many friends. Memorial contributions may be made to the Seguin Fire Department, 660 S. State Highway 46, Seguin, Texas, 78155 or to the charity of one's choice.
