Holly Harper Goodman, 73 of Seguin, Texas passed away on February 1, 2024.
Holly was born on November 28, 1950, in San Antonio, Texas, to Mabel (Kennedy)
Harper Garberick and Harvey Harold Harper. Holly graduated from Douglas MacArthur High School in 1968, Holly worked as a Credit Manager in the building material industry. She served as President of the San Antonio branch of the National Association of Credit Management and retired from Lynwood Building Materials after 24 years.
Holly never met a stranger as her sparkling smile and friendly demeanor were a hallmark in the business world reflected by the large number of coworkers and customers who became valued friends.
Holly's lifelong love of horses led her from ponies as a child to the Paint Horse show ring where her beauty and sparkling personality resulted in her being chosen American Paint Horse Association Queen in 1970. She continued showing Paint and Quarter horses her whole life.
One of Holly's havens was spending time at the coast with Jerry fishing or relaxing at the beach. Holly also enjoyed the yearly venture to Con Can, Texas to float the Frio with family and play some fun games of 42. Holly took great joy in visiting Cabo San Lucas, Mexico relaxing and sightseeing. Holly loved planting a garden relishing the fresh vegetables and making Hot Sauce. She also loved Hummingbirds, Flamingos, and Peacocks. After retirement, Holly took up pottery and became a creative and talented clay artist even giving workshops in the medium.
Holly is preceded in death by her parents, her step-father Bill Garberick, and her brother Skip Harper.
Holly is survived by her loving husband of 22 years Jerry Goodman; her son Halston Connella; sister Stacey Fenton and husband Mark; stepchildren, Jason Goodman and Dana Goodman; nephew Chase Fenton; niece Ashley Harper; numerous cousins, other loving family members and a myriad of friends.
Holly was the greatest mom in the world to her son Halston.
Holly will be greatly missed by her countless untold friends across the USA.
Visitation will begin on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, Seguin, Texas followed by the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 10:30 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m., with the Rev. Gregory J. Nevlud officiating.
Graveside services and interment will be held on Monday, February 12, 2024, at 9:45 a.m. at Fort Sam National Cemetery with the Rev. Msgr. Dennis Darilek officiating.
