Hugo Edgar Luensmann, Jr., age 74 of Zuehl, passed away on February 26, 2014. Visitation will be held at Tres Hewell Mortuary on Monday, March 3, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Redeemer United Church at Zuehl with Rev. Lee Zillmann officiating. Interment will follow in the Redeemer United Church Cemetery. Hugo was born on September 6, 1939 in Bexar County Texas near Marion to Hugo, Sr., and Ella (Bielke) Luensmann. He was a lifetime member of Redeemer United Church. He was a member of the 1959 graduating class at East Central High School. He owned and operated Luensmann's Ice and Food also known as Hugo's! Hugo had lifetime memberships with both Bexar Bowling Society and Germania Bowling Club where he was known as a heck of a bowler. He enjoyed farming and ranching. He liked dancing, playing cards and dominoes and gambling. His best times were spent among family and friends, especially when he was at his grandchildren's sporting events where everyone knew he was cheering them on! Hugo was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Ella Ida Luensmann and Sophia Luensmann Strey and his step-son, Shane Billings. Survivors include his wife, Jan Luensmann; daughter, Nancy Brown and husband Troy; sons, James Luensmann and wife Marla and Ronnie Luensmann and wife Lori; stepson, Shannon Billings and wife Renee; step-daughters, Susan Billings and friend Matt Rollowitz, Teresa Green and husband Red, Tracy Friederick and husband Cory and Robbie Strom and husband Rob; grandchildren, Joshua, Danielle, Dalton, Ashleigh, Montana, Maverick, Jaden, Erica, Ty, Dakota, Wake, Megan, Madison, Caiden, Dawson, and Matthew; siblings, Walter Luensmann and wife Dorothy, Arthur Luensmann and wife Juanita, Annie Coldewey and husband Robert, Reno Luensmann, Elton Luensmann and wife Dorothy, Alvin (Buddy) Luensmann and wife Sandy; brother-in-law, Ronnie Mock and wife Eva; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family members and many friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Joshua Brown, Kevin Luensmann, Ty Green, Dakota Billings, Johnny Luensmann and Lynn McCall. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ronnie Mock, Junior Doege, Rick Seward, Pauly Mattke and Don Dague, Chuck Smith, Ralph Reininger, Leroy Reininger, and Rodney Gerth.
