Ida Margaret was the youngest and the sole surviving offspring of Grover Cleveland Holderfield and Mary Temple Holderfield of Milton, KY. She and her five siblings were raised in LaGrange, KY. She married Robert Levi Covington in 1941 and after 55 years of marriage and a successful military career, he preceded her in death in 1997. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Joan. She is survived by her son, Bob of Seguin; daughter, Beverly Jean of Knoxville, TN; son Bill, of Prince George, Canada; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Ida Margaret loved unselfishly. Her home and her heart faithfully overflowed from the deep well of love, she so abundantly shared. Her love was always alive, homemade crescent rolls graced many Guadalupe County tables and all the children remember her homemade waffles on Saturday morning. A Servant, a Daughter, a Sister, a Wife, a Mother, a Mother-in-law, a Grandmother, a Chaperone, and a Homemaker were all roles she joyfully fulfilled. Mama Bear's faith was consistently strong and never shaken as she raised a family through three wars, the Depression, many uncertain time and constant moving. She was a treasured gift that enriched everyone she touched in her own unique and significant way. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his servant [Psalm 116; 15]. We will miss you but we celebrate your home going with Thanksgiving…. Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors Project, 12672 Silicon Drive, Suite 105, San Antonio, TX 78249.
