IMOGENE "MICKEY" HALEY
Imogene "Mickey" Ashcraft Haley, age 89, of Seguin went to be with the Lord on August 8, 2012 after a brave battle with cancer. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 12, 2012 from Noon to 5 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 3 to 5 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 13, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. at Cross Church, 814 N. Bauer St., Seguin with Pastor Jim Price officiating. Interment will follow in San Geronimo Cemetery, 1620 E. Walnut St., Seguin. A reception will follow at the Elks Lodge of Seguin, 1331 C H Matthies, Jr., Seguin. She was born June 3, 1923 in Hatfield, Arkansas to William D. and Delia Burns Ashcraft. After moving to Texas she married Willie Haley on June 30, 1949. She is preceded in death by her husband, Willie Haley, her parents, 6 brothers and 4 sisters. She is survived by her daughters Kathy Mayes and husband Gary and Debbie Harrison and husband Mark; grandchildren Kristin Phipps and husband Keith, Jeff Mayes, Amanda Gold and husband Dustin and Trent Harrison; great-grandchildren Blake and Charleigh Phipps, Ian Harrison and Reyna and Ryder Gold; sister Mildred Lein; brother-in-law Tommy Haley and wife Geneva; sister-in-law Pauline Haley along with numerous nieces and nephews. She loved her children and she especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed playing games with them and following them in their school and non school events. Her hobbies included playing BINGO, Bunco, 42, Uno and Skip-bo. She was a member of the Elks Ladies Auxiliary 1229, the McQueeney VFW Auxiliary Post 9213 and the American Legion Auxiliary H. U. Wood Unit 245. Mickey was a vibrant person whose smile lit up a room when she walked in. Her friends will tell you she encouraged everyone to smile and enjoy life as she did to the fullest. To those special friends who came to see her "Thank you for being a friend". Pallbearers will be Roy and Bill Hammit, Jeff and Jason Harrison, Lynn Wilson and Dave Dowell.
