IIra Brooks, Jr., age 68 of Seguin, passed away January 29, 2024. Ira was born December 18, 1955, in Seguin, Texas to Virgie Lee (Rainey) and Ira Brooks, Sr.

Ira attended LaVernia ISD and then St. Peter Claver in San Antonio where he graduated. Afterward, he attended St. Philip's College.
He had a happy childhood and was interactive, with a close relationship with his siblings and mother. Family – nieces and nephews, were very important to Ira. He cared deeply for all, willing to help whenever possible.

He joined the SMI/CMC family in March 1978 where he was a loyal employee, a man of integrity with high moral standards.

On February 8, 2018, Ira married Georgia J. Jenkins.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Sylvester Brooks and Floyd Robert Richardson.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Georgia Jenkins Brooks; step-daughter, La Rhonda Dillard; step-granddaughter Saraiah Fennell; step-grandson Josiah Dillard; his siblings Herbert L. Brooks (wife Debbie), Vencent R. Brooks, Audrey Guilbeau-Calhoun (spouse Bruce); nephews, Daryl Richardson, Jeffery L. Brooks, Christopher R. Brooks, Adrian O. Guilbeau, Kyle R. Brooks; nieces, Lynda P. Richardson, Sylvia Richardson, Virginia Richardson, Lisa Richardson, Tuesday Smith, Venessa Goodin, Rebekkah Albert, and many cousins and friends.

Visitation will begin on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Funeral service will also be on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel.

Pallbearers will be Daryl Richardson, Christopher Brooks, Kyle Brooks, Jeffery Brooks, Adrian Guilbeau, Dorian Guilbeau and Josiah Dillard. Honorary pallbearers will be CMC Steel Texas - Seguin.
