Irene Haecker Rappmund, age 91 of Schertz passed away on July 6, 2013. Visitation will begin on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Redeemer United Church at Zuehl followed by funeral services at the church at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Lee Zillmann officiating. Interment will follow in the Redeemer United Church Cemetery. Irene was born on September 12, 1921 in Zuehl, Texas to Alvin L. and Ida Zillmann Haecker. She is preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Raymond Rappmund, Sr., her daughter, Janice Irene R. Grimm, her parents, her brother Marvin Haecker, her sisters, Alice H. Faulkner and Lillian H. Jackson, her daughter-in-law, Rosemary Doege Rappmund, her sons-in-law, Louis Cullins and Kenneth Grimm, and her brothers-in-law, James Faulkner and Alvin Jackson. Survivors include her sons, Raymond Rappmund, Jr., Ronnie Alvin Rappmund and his wife Theresa, and Randy Rappmund; daughter, Carole Ann R. Cullins; brothers, Harold Haecker and wife Wanda and Ralph Haecker and wife Gladys; sister-in-law, Emily Haecker; 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson; numerous nieces and nephews.
