Obituary

Jack G. Guelker, age 85 of Kingsbury, passed away on March 24, 2012. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Darlene Boaz and Rev. Tom Jones officiating and Masonic rites under the auspices of Kingsbury Masonic Lodge # 887 A. F. & A . M. A reception will follow at the Kingsbury United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. Private interment will be held at a later date at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. Jack was born in Sweetwater, Texas to Walter C. and Daphene Hukele Guelker. He proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Army where he was honorably discharged as a Sergeant after serving in the military police unit. Until his retirement he served as General Superintendent and Partner of Gregory Cook in pipeline construction all over the world. He was an active member of Kingsbury Masonic Lodge #887 A. F. & A. M. and a member of the Alzafar Shrine Temple A.A.O.N.M. S. His Masonic service included, Most Excellent High Priest Seguin Chapter #344 R.A.M., District Deputy Grand High Priest Capitular District 12, Thrice Illustrious Master Seguin Council #281 R.&S.M., District Deputy Grand Master Cryptic District #12, Eminent commander San Marcos Commandery #56K.T., Member Texas York College #60, Super Excellent Masters Degree, Order of High Priesthood, Order of Silver Trowel, sovereign Order of Knights Preceptor Texas Chapter and Order of Knight Masons. He is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his loving wife of 34 years, Becky Guelker; sons, David G. Guelker, William Heins and wife Amal, and Patrick B. Heins and wife Melissa; sisters, Doris Teel and husband Dewey, and Marceline Guelker; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
