J. E. "Jake" Rymer, age 84 of Seguin, passed away on August 31, 2017. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Seguin with Rev. Tom Jones officiating. Private interment will be held at a later date in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens near Seminole Oklahoma. Jake was born on March 21, 1933 in Seminole County, Oklahoma to Jesse Eli and Sadie Lou (Fritts) Rymer.

He graduated from Bowlegs High School in 1951 and from Baylor University in 1957. He and Mary Ann King were married July 29, 1956. After his graduation from Baylor he went to work for Line Service, a subsidiary of Zachary, Inc. He moved to Laredo, TX, then to Harlingen, TX and finally to Austin, TX in 1960 where he rose to General Manager of Capital Aggregates.

In 1964 the family moved out to the Westlake Hills area where his daughters attended Eanes Elementary School. After leaving the area for 2 years, the family returned when Eanes ISD added grades 7-12. From the very beginning Jake and Mary Ann were involved in the school. Jake served on the School Board and they never missed a football game. When their 2 daughters graduated from Westlake High School, they continued the tradition and became faithful fans of not only the football team, but added the basketball, baseball and volleyball teams.

In 2003, they moved to Seguin, TX to be close to their granddaughter, but they still made every game they could.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, William (Bill) Rymer.
