James Lawrence "Big Louie" Campbell, age 76 of Seguin, passed away on December 28, 2011. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 30, 2011 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 12 to 7 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Recitation of the rosary will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. with Rev. Gregory J. Nevlud officiating. Interment will follow in St. James Catholic Cemetery. "Big Louie", as he was known by family and friends, was born on July 8, 1935 in Guadalupe County to Patrick and Catherine Campbell. He joined the United States Marines as a young man. After serving his country, he returned to his hometown. James retired from Structural Metals after 28 years of employment. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Patsy Ruth Smith, Betty Jo Hyden and brothers, Eddie and Roger Campbell. His survived by brothers, Michael Campbell and wife Maryellen of Humble and Peter Campbell and wife Judy of Seguin; also by numerous nieces and nephews. James was a man of few words, soft-spoken with a twinkle in his eye. He enjoyed special occasions spent with family. He was a life time member of St. James Catholic Church and attended regularly as his health permitted. Memorial contributions may be made to St. James Catholic Church, 510 S.
