James B. (Jim) Kane, age 71 of Seguin, Texas and formerly of Eudora, Kansas, passed away while working on his ranch on March 9, 2009. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 13, 2009 beginning at 5:00 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church in Seguin. Graveside services and interment will follow in the Kane Family Cemetery on the Kane Ranch near Harwood, Texas at 1:30 p.m. Jim was born on September 4, 1937 in Kansas City, Missouri to Bernard William and Esther Helen Cole Kane. He served his country as a veteran of the United States Air Force. After 29 years of dedicated service, he retired from the Bayer Corporation. His retirement years were spent fulfilling his life's passion of ranching and working cattle on his own land. His parents precede him in death. Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Vickie Kane; children, Stephen James Kane and wife, Shawna, John Scott Kane and wife, Kristi, Katherine Orson and husband, David and Jacquelyn Spataro and husband, Thomas; brothers, Robert Kane, Patrick Kane and wife, Judy, Dennis Kane and wife, Linda; grandchildren, James, Corey, Jennifer, Nathan, Austin, Matthew, Callan, Aaron, Ryan and Samuel.
