James "Jim" Law, age 75 of Seguin, passed away on January 2, 2010. Visitation will be held at Tres Hewell Mortuary on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Cross United Church of Christ with Rev. Jim Price officiating. Interment will follow in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park under the auspices of the American Legion H. U. Wood Post #245. Jim was born on August 17, 1934 in Luling, Texas to James B. Law and Lola Anderson DeHarde. He was a graduate of the Seguin High School Class of 1953. He received his bachelors and masters degrees from Southwest Texas State Teachers College. He proudly served in the United States Navy. He was a mason and formerly served as President of his rotary club in Rosenberg. He taught school for many years in both New Braunfels and Rosenberg. He also worked for the Texas Education Agency and served as Superintendent of the Richmond State School. He loved travel, wood working, pecans and working cattle. His most precious time was spent with family and especially his grandchildren. Jim is preceded in death by his parents and step-father Herbert DeHarde. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Pat Law; sons, Jimmy Law and Jay Law and wife, Jill; grandchildren, Shelby, Pierce and Chloe Law; brother, Harvey DeHarde and wife, Sandra; uncle, John Anderson and wife, Dorothy; aunts, Alice DeHarde and Mary DeHarde; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
