He graduated from Seguin High School, where he made many wonderful memories, from playing in the band, to being Mayor for a Day. He attended Southwest Junior College in Uvalde, and went to Southwest Texas State on a tennis scholarship. Fella began working in the family business, D&D Bumper Works at a young age. He opened Dietz Tractor in 1973, and later turned operations over to his son, Mark. He then joined his wife Linda in Real Estate in 1991 at Century 21 United-D&D Real Estate. In all he did, Fella was a success; he won numerous national awards selling Massey Ferguson and Bush Hog equipment, and was an award winning realtor. He was also Past-President of the Sunrise Rotary, the Seguin Board of Realtors, and Director of the Chamber of Commerce. Fella loved his hometown and took pride in being from Seguin. Fella also knew how to take time from work for play, he could regularly be found at the "19th Hole" at Ciro's. He loved racing, tractor pulls, playing dominoes, skat, bowling, and all things farming. In Fella's last months of life, he mostly missed not being able to attend the Church he loved, First United Methodist Church, and visiting with his friends.
