James Mathias "Jim" Bristley, Jr., age 95 of Seguin, passed away on April 9, 2019. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at 12 PM at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Jeremy Roy officiating. Private interment will be held at a later date.

Jim was born on February 18, 1924 in Burkburnett, Texas to James Mathias Bristley, Sr. and Ollie Mae (Cooper) Bristley. After graduating from Schreiner Military Institute and serving in the military during WWII, he received his college degree from North Texas State University. He worked for Texaco Oil Company in a variety of capacities for many years. He especially enjoyed bowling, fishing, working on cars, and visits with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jim is preceded in death by his loving wife Dorothy Wilson Bristley, his parents, and his sister, Alice Bristley. Survivors include his daughters Melissa Koehler and husband Jeff, Laurie Doughty and husband Ralph; grandchildren, Ivy Koehler Meehan and husband Dan, Madison Koehler, Trevor Doughty, Clint Doughty and wife Adrien, Nathan Doughty and wife Tricia; twin great-granddaughters, Piper and Isla Meehan; several cousins, other loving family members and many friends. The family would like to thank the many employees/friends of Argent Court who helped improve the quality and extend the life of Jim for over ten years.
