James Martin
Moeller
October 15, 1946 – December 20, 2025
James Martin Moeller, age 79 of Seguin, passed away on December 20, 2025. James was born in Seguin, Texas on October 15, 1946, to Lola Alma (Bode) and Martin Alex Moeller. He married Virginia (Kay) Moeller on December 22, 1968.
James was a member of the Seguin High School Class of 1964 and member of the marching band. James enjoyed many activities throughout his lifetime including, helping with the rodeos at the Bode rodeo arena. He loved his time coaching pony league and little league baseball and playing men's softball for many years.
James' work career included Seguin Enterprise where among other things, he captured many photographs of local events, especially sporting events. He then began working for the City of Seguin at the power plant for several years. From there, he worked at United Cotton Goods until their doors closed. That began his final work destination at Seguin Independent School District as warehouse supervisor where he retired after 20 years.
He enjoyed all the good times spent among family and friends. The times hunting, fishing, shrimp boils and just shooting the "shit". But, his favorite times were spent supporting his grandchildren in all their activities, whether it be sports related or showing animals or anything else they were involved in.
James is preceded in death by his parents, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Marjorie Marie (Neal) and Charles Lynn Carroll, brothers-in-law, Charles Lynn Carroll, Jr. and Robert Andrew Carroll, and sister-in-law, Lynda Sanders and husband Allen.
Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Virginia Kay Carroll Moeller; daughter, Kristine Edwards and husband Luther; son, William Fredrick "Bubba" Moeller and wife Paula; grandchildren, Eli Edwards, Samuel Edwards, Cole Moeller, Alex Horton and husband Ethan, Hunter Gustafson, and Erin Williams and husband Bryce; six great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Michael Neal Carroll; other loving family members and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 26, 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with the Reverend Rip Collins officiating. A reception will follow at the Silver Center.
Private interment will be held later.
