James Erwin Olin

James Erwin Olin, age 87 of Seguin, passed away on October 2, 2026. James was born on December 12, 1938, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Orpha Irene (Stevens) and Chester Walfrid Olin.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother, Viola Olin, his brothers, Virg Olin and Dave Olin, daughter-in-law, Chris Olin, sisters-in-law, Irene Olin, Jeannie Olin and Elmi Olin

Survivors include his loving wife of 68 years, Rhoda Olin; children, Merle Olin and wife Shelley, Monica Hill and husband Jim, Marita DaSilva and husband Louis, April Forsberg and husband Dean, Chet Olin and wife Carla, Steve Olin, and George Olin; 29 grandchildren; 53 great grandchildren; siblings, Ron Olin, Joyce Lang and husband Denny, Judy Lang and husband Dudd, Dan Olin and wife Le Ann, Jeannie West and husband Mike, Dick Olin, Mary Hanson and husband Randy and Larry Olin; sisters-in-law, Sharyl Olin, and Sherry Olin; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and a host of friends.

Visitation will begin on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, from 9:30 a. m. until 10:45 a.m. followed by funeral service at 11 a.m. at Word of Grace Apostolic Lutheran Church, 188 Van Meter Ln, Kingsbury, TX, 78638 with the Pastor Carl Aho officiating. Interment will follow in the Eden Cemetery. A meal and fellowship will follow at the church.

Serving as pallbearers will be his sons and sons-in-law, Merle Olin, Chet Olin, Steve Olin, George Olin, Jim Hill and Louis DaSilva.
