James (Jim) Porter Ruby, Jr., age 72 of Seguin, passed away on March 30, 2011. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 1, 2011 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Seguin with Pastor Tim Bauerkemper officiating. Interment will follow in San Fernando Cemetery III in San Antonio. Jim was born on September 25, 1938 in San Antonio, Texas to James Porter, Sr. and Frieda Neitzke Ruby. He retired from Zimmerman Construction Company. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Felix Kosub, granddaughter Shelley Clark, grandson Bob Clark and son-in-law Patrick Mc Cune. Survivors include his loving wife, Mary T. Ruby; children, Darlene Clark and husband Robbie, Bambie Meineke and husband Jesse, Cheryl Balmos and husband Larry, Elizabeth (Betty) Hart and husband Robert, James Patrick Ruby and wife Carol, Michelle Howard and husband Daniel, Deric Zies and wife Tracye and Dena' Prude and husband Chandler; sister, Jeanne " Pat" Holland and husband Jack; brother Joe Kosub and wife Becky; special friends, Pat Lyons and Dominque Ramirez; 27 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends. Jim will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. He was a hard worker throughout his life dedicated to any task he was given. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons, Rick Fryer Howard, Shane Clark, Tim Clark, Bryan McCune, Johnathon Hart , Erik Higdon, Dakota James Zies and Shawn Morris.
