James Allen Schievelbein, age 91 of Seguin, passed away on July 26, 2016. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 29, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Jeremy Roy officiating. Interment will follow in Dugger Cemetery. James was born on October 28, 1924 in Guadalupe County to Albert and Louise (Vorpahl) Schievelbein. James attended both the Neumann School and the Elm Creek School. He will be remembered as a lifelong farmer and rancher. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Eunice Seay Schievelbein, his parents, his brother, Virgil Schievelbein and his brother-in-law, Harold Lenz. Survivors include his son, Danny Schievelbein and wife Connie; grandchildren, Danielle Schievelbein, Leeanne Schievelbein Ramos and husband Sergio, and Matthew Schievelbein and wife Bailey; great grandchildren, Miles and Aubrey Schievelbein; brother, Allen Schievelbein and wife Marge; sister, Nell Lenz; sister-in-law, Carol Schievelbein; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. His family members and friend Dale Cole will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Allen Schievelbein. Memorial contributions may be made to Guadalupe Regional Hospice Service, 1215 E. Court St., Seguin, Texas, 78155 or to the charity of one's choice.
