James A. (Jim) Vordenbaum, age 78 of Seguin, passed away on March 27, 2011. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from noon to 7 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Emanuel's Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul Zwarich and Pastoral Assistant Willie Spreen officiating. Interment will follow in San Geronimo Cemetery. Jim was born on May 6, 1932 in Seguin, Texas to Adolph August and Julia Koepsel Vordenbaum. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a graduate of Seguin High School Class of 1950 and a graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas. He will be remembered as a long time banker in Seguin. He was a long time member of Emanuel's Lutheran Church and was a past member of the Church Council. He was a Past President of the Seguin/Guadalupe County Chamber of Commerce, Past President Seguin Noon Lions Club and Past Exalted Ruler of the Seguin Elks Lodge. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Crystal Cover. Survivors include his sons Eric Vordenbaum and wife Brenda, and Bill Vordenbaum; grandchildren, Maddie Mc Connell and husband Stephen, Kurt Vordenbaum and Claire Vordenbaum; niece Joy Sullivan and husband Robert; nephew, Atlee (Buck) Cover and wife Nancy; grand-niece, Deborah Reich and husband Jerry; great-grand nephews, Robert and Marshall Reich and Philip Strauss.
