Janet Irene Billo Koenig was born in San Antonio, Texas on August 9, 1935 to Alvin and Florence Billo.   She was called home to be with her Lord on August 8, 2024.

Janet graduated from Jefferson High School in San Antonio, Texas and then earned a B.S. in Secondary Education from Texas Lutheran College in Seguin where she met Marvin "Danny" Koenig and they were married on August 10, 1957.  Janet was a devoted wife and supported her husband in his life of service to God as a Lutheran pastor in the communities of Warrenton and Waldeck, Llano, Killeen, Angleton, Midland, Bulverde, New Braunfels and Seguin, Texas.  She was quoted saying "a quiet mind is richer than a throne."  Janet was always involved in helping with church activities, teaching children about Jesus and helping at the church as needed. She spent over 30 years as a public-school math teacher and was known to be very caring and patient in helping students learn and excel in the classroom.

Janet was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Marvin Dan Koenig; her parents, Alvin and Florence Billo, and her daughter Nancy Allen.

She is survived by her son, Andrew Koenig and his wife Kim; daughter, Yvonne Carlton and husband Kevin; sisters, Claudia Perkins and Evelyn Billo; grandchildren, Kelly Lamb and husband Kenny, Conner Koenig, Grace Allen, Will Allen, Emma Allen, Madelyn Fritz, Abigayle Fritz; great-grandchildren, Olivia Lamb and Hudson Lamb; numerous nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held at a later date.
