IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Janet Elaine
Williams
October 10, 1949 – December 8, 2022
Janet Elaine Williams passed away unexpectedly December 8, 2022, at her home in Seguin, Texas. Janet was born Monday, October 10, 1949, in Corsicana, Texas to Edgar 'Skee' Williams and Margaret Mae Williams née Roose.
Janet spent her early childhood years in Gainesville, Texas near the banks of the Red River. She often told stories of stormy nights in North Texas and halcyon holidays in the East Texas piney woods. As Janet grew the family moved frequently due to her father's work with the Soil Conservation Service and in 1961 the family moved to Seguin. In 1967 Janet graduated from Seguin High School and afterwards attended Texas Lutheran College.
Janet worked and excelled in many fields. She spent years as an LVN, an EMT, a credit collections manager, a stay-at-home mother, and more. Just as Janet explored work in various ways, Janet experienced and explored love through different relationships. She married her first husband Kenneth Uhr in 1968 and they welcomed their first daughter, Iris Elaine, in 1969. Later, Janet was married to Victor Donsbach for 10 years and they were blessed with a daughter, Christina 'Tina' Marie. Lastly, in the 90s she married Kelly Gene Hudgins, and they were blessed with a son, William Kelly Hudgins. Although these relationships may not have been permanent, Janet said she always felt close to her former partners because she saw them daily in her children.
Janet loved music her entire life. She studied classical piano throughout her early life, and she played in various bands with her father for 30 years. When not known for her music, Janet was probably known for her dogs–poodles, min pins, and chihuahuas. She had many dogs over the years, and she loved them deeply.
Descended from a long line of preachers, choirmen and women, religion was always important to Janet. Throughout her life she experienced the loving grace of her personal Lord and Savior in different churches. She grew up in a Southern Baptist household in which her father was a deacon. In her middle adulthood she found the spirit as a member, and organist, at the Grace Lutheran Church. In her final decades, Janet was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving for a time as choir and music director.
In her final decade Janet became an empty nester. She had shared her home with children since she was 19 years old. It was a difficult transition, but Janet's heart was warmed by the birth of two granddaughters whom she loved, hosting at her house and entertaining with music, toys, food, and more. She felt a strong bond with her grandmother Lillie Pearl, and she always felt at peace and safe at her grandmother's house and she provided that environment for her granddaughters.
Janet is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, as well as many friends and family. Janet is survived by her children Iris Elaine Clingingsmith née Donsbach and wife Tracy Clingingsmith, Christina Marie Donsbach, and William Kelly Hudgins and wife Daisy Luviano; grandson Justin Pocsik; and granddaughters Azelia Catalina Hudgins Luviano and Zinnia Elin Hudgins Luviano. Lastly, she is survived by her dogs Kate, Julio, Gidget, and Boo who have found new homes with her children and grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 6 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Tim Bird conducting.
