Janice Lee Whitfield, age 73, of Seguin passed away on April 5, 2008. Visitation will be held at Tres Hewell Mortuary on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 from 2p.m. to 7p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5p.m. to 7 p.m. Graveside services and interment will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with Rev. Jim Price officiating. Janice was born on March 22, 1935 in Anutt, Missouri to Walter Richard and Helen Lee Capps Bailey. She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph Sylvester Whitfield and her parents. Survivors include her daughter, Dorla de Montreve and husband Nelson; son, Joe Whitfield and wife Theresa; grandchildren, Jessica de Montreve, Trey Whitfield and Michael Strunk; brother; sister; and numerous other family members. She was a devoted homemaker and mother and will be missed by all who loved her. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Strunk, Randy Haug, Anthony Chard, Dennis Mueller, David Wayne Johnson, and Ronnie Cuellar. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
