Janie Aguinaga Turney, age 83 of Seguin, passed away on March 15, 2018. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 19, 2018 at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. The recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Seguin followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Nixon. Janie was born in Gonzales County on May 7, 1934 to Jose and Anita (Cazares) Aguinaga. She is preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her loving husband of 54 years, Melvin Turney; daughter, Veronica Turney; grandsons, Kenny, Isaac, Chris and Justin; brother, Joe Aguinaga, Jr. and wife Lupe; sisters, Ora Gaytan and husband George, Hope Casarez and husband Nacho and Cecilia Aguinaga; numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family members and friends. Her family will serve as pallbearers.
