Jay Dee Groff, age 78 of Seguin, passed away on March 15, 2009. He was born, May 15, 1930 in Blanchard, OK to Jake and Mayme Groff. Following, he served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. In retirement, Jay moved to Seguin and loved spending time with his family and friends along with fishing. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marion Shaw and two infant sisters. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Ruby Groff; son, Jay Allen Groff; daughters, Evelyn West and husband, Clay and Roberta Horton and husband, John; grandchildren, Jake Groff, Jessie Garcia and husband, Michael, Michael Groff, Kristin Herrera and husband, Isaac and Cassidie Luther, and husband Ben; great-grandchildren, Cailyn Garcia, Hannah Hicks and Maddox Herrera; sisters, Marjorie Foster, Coita Fairburn and husband Delbert and Jo Ellen Gunter and husband Carl and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 19, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Tom Jones officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice, 611 N.
