Jerry Joe Bode, age 61 of Seguin, passed away September 6, 2016. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 16, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Jimmie Jimenez officiating. Jerry was born April 21, 1955 in Seguin, Texas to Alvin Otto and Louise Lois (Mollenhauer) Bode. A graduate of Seguin High School, Jerry found his passion early in life; he loved to fix and build cars. He started as a teenager selling auto parts at Dennis Sagebiel's auto parts store. He then took his talents to San Antonio where he worked for the Nissan dealership. It was here that he became a master mechanic through the various trainings he received. Jerry later went to work in Austin for Toyota, and eventually returned to Seguin where he worked for Seguin Chevrolet for 8 years. Jerry spent his spare time building mud trucks, drag cars, and watching Dale Earnhardt and Dale, Jr. in NASCAR, but he always made time to help his family and friends with anything they may need, whether it was hauling hay or mowing their lawns. He was a wonderful and selfless man who put his family before himself and he will be truly missed. Jerry is preceded in death by his loving wife, Donalda Bode; his parents; sister, Carol Bode; and brother, Royce Bode. Survivors include his daughters Jennifer Wilson, and Shantae Bode and husband Bo; sisters, Bonnie Thomason and husband Jerry, and Becky Jimenez and husband Jimmie; grandchildren Christopher Bode, Ryan Vincent, Devon Vincent, Ty Vincent, Riley Wilson, and Cara Wilson, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends
