Jerry Glenn Kendrick was born on August 22, 1942, in Burkburnett, Texas to Homer Davis Kendrick and his wife Essie Culver Kendrick. He passed away on February 6, 2013. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, his older brother Dickie Wayne Kendrick, and his infant son James David Kendrick. Jerry is survived by his wife, Karen Melinda Kendrick, daughter Melissa Kendrick Stamps and husband Scott, daughter Laura Kendrick Brock, grandson Justin Stamps and wife Abbie, granddaughters Kasey Lynn Brock and Lilly Brock, and great-granddaughter Erika Stamps. Jerry is also survived by his sister Joyce Jenkins and twin brother Garry Kendrick, as well as step-daughter Christy VanAusdall and husband Keith, step-sons Nate Hair and wife Rachel and Jon Hair and wife Jerri. Jerry spent the first 20 years of his work-life as a highly skilled mechanic and the next 25 years as a licensed contractor for manufactured homes. He was multi-skilled and never afraid of hard work. In fact, there was very little Jerry could not do if he put his mind to it and he loved to put his skills to work helping others. His was a true servant's heart. Jerry's first love was the Lord Jesus Christ and his greatest joy was to share the message of Jesus with others. He was very active in The Country Church in Marion, Texas, where he helped with the young men's bible study group, served as a greeter, and supported the Attic Benevolence Ministry with his carpentry skills. A memorial service will be held at The Country Church in Marion on Saturday, February 9th, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Butch Ikels officiating. A reception will follow in the Country Church Fellowship Hall. Private interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Jerry's memory to the Attic Ministry at The Country Church, P. O. Box 421, Marion, Texas, 78124.
