Jerry W. Rivera, age 48 of Seguin, passed away on October 6, 2021.  Jerry was born on January 24, 1973 in New Braunfels, Texas to Josefa (Rios) and Panfilo Rivera.

He is preceded in death by his mother; Josefina Rios; sister-in-law, Patricia Rios; cousin, Luciano Rivera, Jr; aunt, Leticia Rios.

Survivors include his loving wife, Carmen Rivera; sons, Jerry Amando Rivera, Jerry W. Rivera, Jr.; daughters, Bianey Rivera and Jennifer Rivera; sister, Michelle Miranda and Cecilia Rivera; brother, Carlos Rios and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Jerry was a very adventurous person and religious man. He enjoyed taking rides on his motorcycle and he also enjoyed going to the lake to jet ski. He was a fun, loving father and always placed his family first. Jerry enjoyed Barbeques and listening to his favorite band La Mafia. Jerry began work in December 1997 with the Union Local 769 as a groundman and worked his way from the bottom to the top to become a Journeyman Lineman which he enjoyed. He took his job seriously and protected those workers whom he was responsible for each and every day. During and outside of work he enjoyed being around his co-workers which he considered family. Jerry constantly went above and beyond for his workers helping anyway he could and ensuring their safety and protection on and off the clock. Jerry was so loved and respected by all who knew him and will be deeply missed every single day.

Visitation will begin on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 5 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary followed by the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. with Deacon Nick Carrillo officiating.  Visitation will begin on Friday, October 15, 2021 at 10 a.m.  at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Santo Tomas Cemetery.  Masks are requested at all locations. Pallbearers will be Ruben Miranda, Jerry Amando Rivera, Jerry Rivera, Jr., Bill Young, Francisco Pacheco and Enrique Esquivel.
