Rev. Dr. Jesse M. Mothersbaugh, age 86, passed away on October 18, 2015. A memorial service celebrating Dr. Mothersbaugh's life will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ron Welborn officiating. A reception will follow in Hierholzer Hall. Private ennichment will be held in the Knolle Chapel Columbarium of First United Methodist Church. Dr. Mothersbaugh was born on June 22, 1929 in Windsor Missouri to Jesse and Opal Mae (Murray) Mothersbaugh. Dr. Mothersbaugh was a minister of the United Methodist Church for 43 years and a missionary to the Belgian Congo for 3 ½ years. He served First United Methdist Church in Seguin from 1974 to 1980. Jesse and JoAnn retired to Seguin 20 years ago. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Louis Lee Mothersbaugh, his nephew Dennis Mothersbaugh, and his brother-in-law, James C. Chenoweth. Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, JoAnn Wilson Mothersbaugh; their children, Brent Lee Mothersbaugh and his wife Katrinka, Brad Alan Mothersbaugh, and Susan Jane Mair and husband Dr. Kenneth Mair; grandchildren, Brittany Mothersbaugh and fiancé Joshua Hall, Jessica Mothersbaugh, Travis Mothersbaugh, Caroline McWatters and husband Jordan, Caylin Mothersbaugh, Cathryn Mothersbaugh, Aaron Mair and Tyler Mair; special friend of the family, Maureen Victoria; sisters-in-law, Jane Chenoweth and June Mothersbaugh; numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 710 N. Austin, Seguin, Texas or to the charity of one's choice.
