Joan Kleinschmidt Henze, age 76 of Seguin, passed away on October 24, 2025.  Joan was born on November 2, 1948 in Guadalupe County, Texas to Nola (Herbold) and Ernest H. Kleinschmidt.  She was a 1966 graduate of Seguin High School and a 1970 graduate of Southwest Texas State University, receiving her Bachelor's Degree in Home Economics.  Over the years, Joan taught school at Poth and Navarro, and retired in 2006 from Gonzales High School.  In 1970, Joan met and started dating Robert Henze. They were married on July, 24th 1971.

Together, Joan and Bobby were active members of Cross Church in Seguin. In her younger years, Joan was a fierce volleyball player and an avid bowler. She also loved to garden, to bake, and to spoil her adopted dog / third child, Darcy. She was a devoted Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt, Niece, Cousin, and Friend. Taken away too fast, her presence will be missed by those of us who had the luck and privilege to know her.

Joan is preceded in death by her parents, nephew, Wes Ed Lange, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Nora and Oscar Henze and brother-in-law, Gilbert Henze.

Survivors include her loving husband of 54 years, Robert "Bobby" Henze; daughter, Stacy Schriewer and husband Kyle; son, Jeff Henze; sister Gloria Lange and husband Jimmie; brother, David Kleinschmidt and wife Penny; sister-in-law, Carol Henze; aunts, Hazel Kutac and husband Kenneth, Lydia Whitwell, Lorene Schievelbein and Goldie Herbold; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family members and a host of friends.

Visitation will begin on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 1 p.m. followed by a memorial service celebrating Joan's life at 2 p.m. at Cross Church with the Reverend Jim Price officiating.  A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall.
